Antonio Cassano, a former player for Roma, told Bobo TV, via Sport Witness, that Jose Mourinho would move to Chelsea if he could.
Graham Potter is under a lot of pressure at Stamford Bridge because the club has only won two of its last 17 games under his watch.
Two recent losses to bottom-of-the-table Southampton and archrivals Tottenham have made fans lose all patience with the manager. They want him fired.
But reports say that the owners are still hoping to be able to give Potter more time.
This hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from saying that if a change needs to be made in West London, a number of managers from around the world could be on the list.
Mourinho has been mentioned as a possible candidate. If he came back to Stamford Bridge, it would be his third time there.
Cassano sends Mourinho to Chelsea
Cassano, who used to play for Roma, said that he would not try to hire him at any other club because he wants to go back to Chelsea.
He said, “If Inzaghi were fired, I wouldn’t want Jose Mourinho to come back. If England’s Premier League made an offer, the Special One would take it.
“The fans in Italy loved his attitude, but he wants to leave, and I think the only place for him to go is back to Chelsea.”
Reports say that Graham Potter is being given a few games at Chelsea to save his career. Among these games is the important Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund.
He will have to play against the Bundesliga team without Thiago Silva, who is a key defender. He may be tempted to change his team’s formation to try to get the most out of the players he has.
